DESCRIPTION
Seeds and leaves are anthelmintic, antiasthmatic, carminative, diuretic, expectorant, laxative, lithontriptic and stomachic. Seeds are believed to also have emmenagogue properties. Seeds are useful in gonorrhoea, indigestion, stomachache, dysuria, constipation, strangury and splenitis. It stimulates the flow of bile.
A salt extracted from roots that are dried and burnt to white ash is used in stomach ailments.
Recommended Dosage: 1 to 3 g powder of dried seeds.
Contraindication: This herb has no known warnings or contraindications.
